One year. Twelve months. 365 days of flour, water, salt, and a whole lot of heart.

Exactly one year ago today, from my little home kitchen here in Sydney, I took a deep breath and a huge leap of faith, officially turning my passion for sourdough into a real, tangible business: Hankerie. It feels like just yesterday I was nervously packing my very first starter kit, wondering if anyone would be as excited about this journey as I was.

What a wild, flour-dusted, incredible ride it’s been since. 🥹💕

This year has been about so much more than just baking. It’s been about connecting with so many of you, from seasoned bakers sharing your incredible creations to absolute beginners sending me photos of your very first, beautiful, crusty loaves. Seeing you all embrace this craft has been the most rewarding part of it all.
